***this position is now filled****

Are you lovely? Do you love drinking tea and chatting to random people? Are you an knitter and crocheter? Are you looking for a temporary job working with lovely creatives? Then I might just have the job for you!

Wool is looking for a super friendly sales adviser to start working here in October, and through to March, every Monday from 9.30-5.30.

Is this you?

Customer service experience is preferable but not crucial. You learn a lot on the job and we are happy to teach you the Wool Way. A fair amount of knitting know-how is key, however.

Fitness is important as we walk a few miles over the winter months and our stockroom is in the basement. Comfy shoes are a must!!! I live in Doc Martens and handknit socks all winter.

You must be happy and comfortable working with others as well as being self-motivated when called upon.

You must be able to think on your feet- I can’t tell you how many vintage patterns wander through the door needing a modern day yarn equivalent!

What do you think?

Other things that it might be useful to know

You will be processing items through the till; accuracy is important.

You will work Mondays every week but a degree of flexibility is necessary to manage the needs of the business; Wool is a six day a week business and life happens!

You will get discounts on yarn and needles (yay!)

If this sounds like you then please drop in to see us or email me on

Looking forward to hearing from you

Laura (your new boss????)

Our gorgeous Fran is teaching a super sock workshop here at the shop on Thursday 30th August 2018

It’s a longer workshop to make sure all bases are covered. You will feel like a super confident sock knitter by the time we’re done with you!

The workshop covers all aspects of handmade socks; knitting in the round, DPNs (double pointed needles), turning a heel, shaping and grafting toes for a super- professional finish.

It’s important that all attendees can confidently knit, purl and long-tail cast on in order to maximize their enjoyment of this workshop and get the most out of the teaching.

The workshop will be held at the shop in central Bath. There will be tea and coffee on arrival at 10am and then we’ll work through until 12.30.

Lunch will be over the road at one of the best cafes in Bath- the Green Rocket. It will be delicious and is included in the price.

The workshop will recommence at 1.30 and we will finish at 4pm (with more tea and coffee as you need it!)

The cost of the workshop is £66 per person and it also includes sock yarn and needles.

There are limited spaces (we keep it to 6 attendees to make sure everyone gets enough attention from the tutor) so please give us a call or email me to book your spot.

Our number is 01225 469144 (open Monday to Saturday) and my email is which I check regularly.

Look forward to seeing some on you 30th
