How old were you when you started knitting?

I can’t remember learning but took it up seriously again about ten years ago – it keeps me sane. Nowadays I only get to knit after the kiddies are asleep.

What is your favourite chocolate?

After a long deliberation of all Lindt flavours I have decided on Cherry Intense as my favourite of all.

Who is your celebrity crush?

I’ve loved Gary Barlow since I was about 14 and I think he gets more and more handsome every year.

What are you knitting at the moment?

A beautiful ombré jumper in kidsilk haze. It starts black then goes to dark grey, then light grey and lastly baby pink. It uses three strands held together so it’s super soft.

What is your favourite holiday location?

I’m totally digging North Devon at the mo. Particularly Saunton Sands. Our boys have such a blast there I can’t help but enjoy myself (even if it’s chucking down)

What is your Favourite film?

Point Break is my all time fave but I recently watched a great film a few weeks ago called Begin Again which I loved.

Likes

Halloumi cheese, hanging out the washing, adidas trainers, Game of Thrones, the view from my garden, the smell of sunscreen.

Closing note

My aim in life is to be as fabulous as my dog thinks I am.

What is your Favourite film?

Dances With Wolves, but prefer to read.

Likes

The wind in my hair, the sounds of the sea and the arms of a sailor.

Closing note

Keep smiling! If in doubt – run.

How old were you when you started knitting?

I got properly knitting was I about 10 or 11, and I haven’t stopped since!

What is your favourite chocolate?

Good old plain dairy milk.

Who is your celebrity crush?

I only have eyes for my husband, I know I’m mushy!

What are you knitting at the moment?

I have zero self control when it comes to projects, meaning I have like, 15 things on the go at any one time. My main projects are a yoked fair isle 4ply jumper, and heavily cabled jumper in Erika Knight’s British Blue DK. It’s the most gorgeous orange and I’m in love!

What is your favourite holiday location?

Dartmouth in Devon, or North Wales.

What is your favourite film?

It is still Disney’s Tarzan!! Didn’t it make everyone fall in love with Phil Collins?

Likes

The colour orange, learning Japanese, roast dinners, pink gin, and knitting for my niece.

Closing note

I meet a lot of lovely ladies* in our shop who are determined to finish their current project before starting a new one. I say throw caution to the wind! If you want to start a new project then do it. It’s way more fun to have an array of projects to choose from than to torture yourself waiting. Knit long and prosper!

*and a few brave men

And alas I have too many projects in my head that I can’t wait to start.

Closing note

Now living in Bath to help and support Laura with fabulous “wool”, we are enjoying the delights of our grandsons Joseph and Ted. We cannot imagine not being here as the boys are growing up so quickly and are so unbelievably precious. Words fail me! The joy and love is priceless. (*Laura sobs in the corner*)

Likes

My new glasses (eat your heart out Elton!) A cup of tea with my feet up in the garden listening to the birds chatting. Better still with a delicious home baked cupcake from Jemma.

But first and last the love of all my family and simply being together -albeit crawling around on all fours playing peekaboo or hide and seek- and chatting about everyone’s day. Such joy and contentment is bliss!

Fav holiday location

St David’s, Pembrokeshire – coastal paths, fantastic scenery and the occasional dolphin.

Fav film

Bit cheesy, but has to be Music and Lyrics, a little known Hugh Grant film, pokes fun at 80’s pop music (some of us remember this and the fashions)…I think it’s funny.

Likes

Paddling in the sea, choral singing and anything lemony – deserts, handcream and gin and tonic!

Closing note

Housework only comes before Knitting in the dictionary!

How old were you when you started knitting?

My mum tried teaching me when I was a child, but all I remember producing were large amounts of stripey garter stitch scarves with even larger amounts of dropped stitches. I took it up again 9 years ago, after booking a weekend retreat to learn knitting and spinning on a whim.
